Goal Setting lets you define what a good supplier looks like for a specific segment of your supply base. Each Goal is a configurable rating framework — you set the criteria, the weights, and the scoring rules, then assign suppliers to it.
This article walks through creating a Goal from start to finish, including how to configure each attribute type and how to assign or reassign suppliers.
Who can do this: Account Superusers and Company Superusers.
Navigate to Goal Setting
Go to Impact → Goal Setting.

Click Add new to create a new Goal.
Step 1: General information
Enter a name and purpose for the Goal.
Name — identifies the Goal in the list and in supplier views. Use something that describes the segment, for example: Tier 1 Manufacturers.
Purpose — a brief description of what this Goal is measuring and why. This is for internal reference.
Click Rating to proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Configure ratings
This is where you set weights at three levels: the ratings, the rating areas within each rating, and the individual attributes.
Set rating weights
You will see three ratings: safe(SOURCE), Operational Practices, and Performance.
Assign a weight to each rating. Weights range from 0 to 999 — the platform calculates each rating's contribution to the overall score based on its weight relative to the others. Setting a weight to 0 excludes that rating from the score entirely.
Think in ratios, not percentages. If Performance has a weight of 400 and Operational Practices has 200, Performance counts twice as much — the numbers do not need to add up to any specific total.
Set rating area weights
Select a rating to expand its rating areas. Assign a weight to each rating area using the same 0–999 range.
Rating areas with a weight of 0 are excluded from that rating's score.
Configure attributes
Select a rating area to view its attributes. For each attribute you want to include, set a weight and configure the scoring rules.
Weights vs. scores: At rating and rating area level, you are setting relative weights — how much each element matters. At attribute level, you are setting scores — what a supplier earns for each answer.

Step 3: Assign suppliers
Click Select suppliers to open the supplier selection modal.
Search or filter by property to find the suppliers you want to assign to this Goal, select them, and confirm.
One Goal at a time: A supplier can only belong to one Goal at a time. Assigning a supplier who is currently on another Goal will move them to this one automatically.
Default Goal & Reassigning suppliers
All new suppliers are automatically assigned to the Default Goal.
When you create a new Goal and assign suppliers to it, each supplier can only belong to one Goal at a time. If you assign a supplier who is already part of another Goal, they will be automatically moved to the new Goal. Their ratings will be recalculated based on the new Goal's weights.
The Default Goal always exists and cannot be deleted. If a Goal is deleted, all suppliers assigned to it return to the Default Goal automatically.
